“Count down to the best white water event in Europe”

The best withe water event in Iberia, Tamecanos 2008, is back on track. Last year, 200 padlers from all Europe tryed the white water experience of the North of Portugal. Granit, water and sun, good food, good wine and lots of animation. Want to try ???

Após o sucesso que foram os últimos “Águas de Basto on Kayak”, com a participação de cerca de 200 canoistas, portugueses, espanhóis e franceses, o Grupo de Tamecanos de Mondim de Basto, prepara-se para organizar de novo aquele que é já considerado um dos melhores eventos de águas bravas da Europa.

Qualidade do apoio logístico, fortes paisagens, boa gastronomia e acima de tudo as magnificas condições que esta região apresenta para a prática das águas bravas são argumentos que cá trazem grupos de canoistas de toda a Europa.

Sendo uma região central no norte de Portugal, Mondim de Basto e Ribeira de Pena encontram-se na confluência de 4 serras, Barroso, Cabreira, Alvão e Marão, oferecendo uma infinidade de percursos nos famosos rios Tâmega, Beça, Lourêdo, Olo, Peio, Ribeira de Cavez, Ribeira de Moimenta, Covas, Poio, Terva e Cabril entre outros.

"Habitat, Nomad and Jeffe" - The creeker trio

The last three months the readers of my blog answered the question: "Which is actually the best creek boat?"

I was not surprised that Wavespot Habitat, Dagger Nomad and Liquidlojic Jefe were the most voted, but it was a good surprise see the last creeker on the market (WS Habitat) the favorite for the readers. Rolling, outfit, speed, boofing, keeping the line, turning ... in my personal opinion the Habitat is the most balanced creeker actually.

Dagger Nomad - 99 votes (27%)

Liquidlogid Jefe - 77 votes (21%)

Pyranha Burn - 28 votes (7%)
